Study Abroad

Dechit Book

Throughout my study abroad trip, I had the opportunity to work on various hands-on design projects that deepened my understanding of typography and printmaking. In Germany, we visited P98a and workshopped with Erik Spiekermann, exploring both risograph printing and letterpress techniques to experiment with type and composition. In Switzerland, we worked at the Basel Academy of Art and Design, where we began with analog experimentation, using ink and paintbrushes to create expressive letterforms before digitizing our designs and transforming them into posters. Finally, in Italy, I immersed myself in more letterpress work at Tipoteca Italiana, refining my skills in composition and print production. One of the most meaningful projects was creating a book documenting my journey, combining my experiences, design work, and reflections into a cohesive visual narrative. Each project pushed my creativity and reinforced my passion for typography and print design in new ways.
